Not impressed.

I am grossly disappointed in this book. Where's the Mithai, Chicken foot, egg ball, sour, tamarind balls, provision, icing for the black cake, pepper sauce. I guess I thought I would see more of the street food (snacks) that I love, but didn't find it here.
There are recipes for other favorites: pepper pot, souse, roti, dhall pouri...
There are some recipes that I never heard of growing up, which seem interesting. I will definitely update this review once I start my holiday entertaining and try some of these recipes, but as of now, I'm not sure this was truly worth purchasing. :/

A Glimpse of Guyana Cooking

The books does not seems to have some of the recipes from the first original book. Hopefully there will be an updated copy with those Guyanese favorites that are missing.
A great buy however, and I'm looking forward to once again cooking Guyana style food that I recall especially with Christmas fast approaching.
Would recommend to anyone who is interesting in cooking Guyanese food and for my fellow Guyanese who are longing for a taste of Guyana
