About the Author
Professor S. P. Venkateshan received his Ph.D. in Heat Power Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1977. He has taught computational methods in engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras for 15 years. Recently, Professor Venkateshan worked as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras.

Mandy Concepcion has worked in the automotive field for over 21 years. He holds an Associates Degree in Applied Electronics Engineering as well as an ASE L1 certification. Very interesting, you should read it.

The layout of this book is much better than what I found in other books of this series. No figures are missing or on the wrong place this time. In general the text is clear but still there are some ambiguous paragraphs that lead to confusion. The most disturbing is about MAP and manifold vacuum. Although the author is frequently drawing attention on this, he increases this confusion. Indeed, MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure and by definition it should not be differential.
Nevertheless, I strongly recommend the reading of this ebook.

This is a very good source of information for techs wanting to enhance their drivers seat diagnostic abilities. The information might not be as polished as some other sources but the information very deep in a technical nature. Will purchase other training aids from Mandy Concepcion.

A great book if you want a cohesive mecha setting

Fate is probably my favorite rpg system. With the right players, with everyone on the same creative page, you can tell some amazing stories with the help of this system. While MvK is a supplement to Fate, giving you a world in which to set your games, it serves to flesh out the system in regards to giant Mecha and equally giant monsters. It helps to tie together a bunch of the anime and manga and sentai tropes into a cohesive setting with international intrigue, warfare, and supernatural overtones. It's really impressive and great fun.

Bought it for a simple Robotech conversion, keeping it because it does ALL genres of Mecha anime right!

I got this book in order to do a Robotech > Fate conversion, and was a little leery of how it was going to be, based on how freeform Fate normally is (not a bad thing, just a little iffy when dealing with complex weapon, movement, and sensor systems that come in a lot of mecha games).

Boy, was I wrong! Mecha vs. Kaiju presents the mecha in one of two ways (fully compatible, too!): either very simple, with Aspects as their traits and their own Stress/Consequence tracks, or as very detailed combinations of individual systems. The beauty is that you can mix and match with no worries of "balance" issues, and the game clearly lays out different methodologies on running Mecha, both at the creation stage and during gameplay.

The setting is very well done, and while brief, keeps its eyes on ideas primed for immediate use at the table. There are dozens of possible scenarios that span many genres of mecha actions, from giant showdowns to human-sized espionage to interstellar (or interdimensional) warfare. Character creation is revised using the tropes of Mecha anime, and it wouldn't be hard to apply this to other types of "dramatic action" styles, like sci-fi cops or something along those lines.

This is a wonderful purchase, the only flaw being that there weren't more examples of mecha and kaiju throughout the book.

This impressive audio is a version of a London theatrical performance featuring McGregor as Iago, Chiwetel Ejiofor in the role of Othello, and Kelly Reilly playing Desdemona. In a studio recording session, the actors “reproduced as closely as possible the stage production.” Authentic sound effects and background music further enhance the presentation. Experiencing a play aurally is different than viewing a stage performance, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between the voices in the predominantly male cast. Nevertheless, this is an excellent vehicle for introducing the classic tragedy to students and Shakespeare fans. An accompanying DVD includes interviews with cast members. Their discussions of the characters, analyses of motivations, and decisions on delivering lines are thoughtfully presented. It's Shakespeare; who are we to critique the writing?

Although it's been more than 40 years since I graduated with a degree in English and I've retired from a non-literary career in government, I still read Shakespeare on a regular basis. I'm updating my collection with volumes that will fit into my backpack for travel. This edition fits nicely and the binding protects it from being bent better than a paperback.

but this is an excellent starting

it helps tremendously having notes and context side by aide to the text. there's also a lengthy introduction about the story, language and Bard himself.

If you're a beginner you will still have to put a lot of effort in, and you will likely need other resources as well, but this is an excellent starting text

Frustrating kindle experience (notes poorly done, no navigation)

Unfortunately, with most of the professional Shakespeare editions (Folgers, Penguin, etc), the digital "sample" you download only gives you the introduction, which tells you nothing of the formatting of the play itself. Since that formatting is essential to your reading experience, this is quite frustrating -- I thought it would be worth giving a brief review to warn other users off.

Given that all of Shakespeare's works are in the public domain, I'd like to think someone would have put together nice kindle editions of them. Given the strong reviews, I thought this might be it (also, I have my students reading the print version of this edition, so it seemed like a logical choice). Alas, my search for a decent kindle experience continues.

On the positive side, the lines of this play work well on a KindleDX, so the basic reading experience is comfortable.

On the minus side, they've done extraordinarily little work to convert this book into a Kindle book.

To start with, they didn't even take the time to format acts and scenes as chapters, so there's no way to quickly navigate the text except to search for "I.iii" or what have you (or a famous line in a scene that you happen to remember!). The table of contents consists simply of "Title Page", "Copyright Page", "Introduction" and the play. The "notes" (on the bottom of each page in the print edition) are included as raw text in the kindle edition. There's no way to make the kindle page line up with the print page (even though with the DX this might be physically possible), so the notes just appear as a blob now and again, which makes them awkward to use if not useless. Furthermore, the notes refer to "line numbers" which are not included in the text. The lack of line numbers is also frustrating for people trying to use the kindle edition to interact with a class where the print edition is standard. Having line numbers is to my mind quite essential if you're going to be working with the text with others.

The play, of course, is wonderful, and this edition makes it easy to read with just enough notes to help the reasonably experienced reader along (I find these editions much less annoying than the Folger's editions, which have an overwhelming number of notes).
