Solid information

The author does a good job of introducing and discussing seven key areas of linguistic study. He explains the main ideas and different approaches to each topic. He does a good job of breaking down a complex subject. This book would be helpful for anyone interested in the study of linguistics, and especially for students who plan to pursue linguistics at the college level.
